Mountaineering involves the following ,matters

1. Selection of the peak as per the ability of the team ( both financial and technical ability) and time of expedition ( per-monsoon or post-monsoon)

2. Planning and gathering necessary information from the authentic sources (In India it is IMF).If its a virgin peak then someone having sound knowledge has to go there physically to do the survey to get the basic details like Road head, Transit camp, Base Camp, Basic habitat in the area, presence of wild life and the technical detail like terrain, presence of rock, snow or ice in the route. Accordingly the technical equipment have to be selected.

3. Team Selection and distribution of responsibilities. Like Leader, Deputy Leader, Equipment in-charge, Qtr master, Transport etc

4. Route planning

5. Food planning

6. Equipment planning

7. Budgeting

8. Necessary paper work and official correspondence with the concerned authorities.

9. Planning for emergency situation (Provision of Normal or Helicopter rescue)

10.Procuring of Necessary technical device like Altimeter, Barometer, Hygrometer, pocket weather tracker, AVD etc.

11.One can take help from the weather station for weather forecast. It can also be transmitted on your set on a regular basis.
12.Finally you move for the expedition

Where you learn rock craft and other subjects like knots,map reading, different suvival technique. It is advisable to get initiated by this course.
